Arthur’s Avenue McCrae

The McCrae House is a costal home situated on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. The site is in a bushland setting and has extensive elevated views of Port Phillip Bay. Cars are parked underneath the elevated first floor, revealing the expanse of the bay upon arrival. The building is designed as an extruded form with the walls, floor and roof extending past the glazing line to enclose a long balcony facing the bay. The southern elevation presents a closed face to the street and is punctuated by the kitchen wall recess and a long slot window to the corridor.
