An additions and alterations project in the central highlands countryside. Nestled on the fringe of local township and state forest, settling quietly on two and a half hectares of flat rural land, the project begins with an existing house, closely accompanied by two gable outbuildings.

The initial client brief was to renovate and extend the existing dwelling - namely an addition of new living spaces to elevate internal experience and connection to the site. The proposed plan carefully reprograms the dwelling by retaining existing walls, repurpose living, dining and bedrooms for a main suite, amenities and an art gallery that functions as a generous hallway, all while limiting demolition to a minimum to reduce intervention and cost.
