Occupying a site in Alexandra, one of the larger rural townships in Murrindindi Shire surrounded by significant state forests, the Goulburn River and Lake Eildon. The brief calls for a modest three bedroom dwelling with an open living arrangement.

Situated along a residential street, the use of external red brick engages local community character - at the facade angled brick walls are offset from the dwelling to provide support for patterned timber beams overhead. This depth at the front and rear delineate opportunities for inside / outside spaces that are privately screened by the angled walls and are passively shaded by the patterned beams. For continuity, external red brick runs into the house, across the living room wall as a non combustible platform for a wood fireplace.
